‘Precision Training’, experts in NZQA management training in New Zealand, with e-learning specialists Intuto are offering The National Diploma in Business Level 5, for people in business related roles, people aspiring to middle management and supervisor positions and people wishing to extend their business skills.

Programme Overview

The National Diploma in Business Level 5 is delivered through five classroom sessions; one introductory and four module-based sessions. Each session is supplemented with online learning resources that the student can work through at a time that suits them, either at work or at home, wherever they have access to the Internet. A comprehensive candidate resource is also provided as reference material.

The diploma includes 21 unit standards that provide a total of 124 credits at level 5 and above. It also includes unit standard 11631, which is a level 4 prerequisite for the business law units

Qualification/Certification:

Students who successfully complete The National Diploma in Business Level 5 have the skills, knowledge and competence to undertake a broad range of business activities, carry out a mix of specialised operations involving a degree of self directed work and the supervision of processes and/or people.

Programme Details

The goal of the introductory session is to ensure that students know exactly what is expected of them to complete the Diploma. Students will:

  • be introduced to the Intuto Learning Suite; receive their logins and passwords and be shown how to use the online learning component of the programme
  • discover how to make the most of their learning experience; how to combine their online studies with workplace activities and understand what is expected of them in preparation for the session 1 workshop
  • receive an understanding of what is required to complete the diploma programme, the resources available to help them, and how the assessment process will work

Session 1: Self Development, Workplace Operations & Leadership

In session 1, students will apply the knowledge and skills gained after completing the online learning modules by working on case studies and activities relating to the six topics studied, which include:

  1. Improving your performance
  2. Plan and allocate work
  3. Supervise workplace operations
  4. Leading individuals and teams
  5. Change management
  6. Conflict management

Session 2: Development, Business Planning & Leading for Improvement

In session 2, students will apply the knowledge and skills gained after completing the online learning modules by working on case studies and activities relating to the seven topics studied, which include:

  1. Strategic planning
  2. Achieve quality improvements
  3. Performance management
  4. Feedback
  5. Listening techniques
  6. Managing meetings
  7. Achieving complex objectives
